POONCH Feb 15: Vikas Kundal, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Poonch, presided over a meeting today to review the execution and updates of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.
The Executive Engineer from the Electric Division JPDCL Poonch presented an extensive PowerPoint outlining the scheme’s goals and advantages. It was reported that 572 applications have been submitted through the portal, with 310 being accepted. To date, 29 solar units have been installed, and installations for 48 additional units are currently underway. Furthermore, as per J&K Bank’s records, out of 73 applicants, 10 have successfully secured loans under the scheme.
The DC instructed the vendors to initiate the installation of Solar Rooftop Systems (SRTs) for approved applicants without delay.
Highlighting the significance of raising public awareness and fostering participation, the DC directed the Executive Engineer, JPDCL, to actively involve stakeholders to educate them on the benefits and incentives of the scheme.
This initiative is designed to assist consumers in taking advantage of the Government’s solar energy program. DC Vikas Kundal underscored the necessity of collaborative efforts to achieve maximum outreach and successful execution of the scheme throughout the district.
Attendees included the Superintending Engineer JPDCL, Executive Engineer JPDCL, LDM J&K Banks, Cluster Heads J&K Banks, AEEs, and other relevant officials.
