DODA, Jan 17: Today, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Harvinder Singh, convened a meeting to evaluate the effectiveness of the Samagra Shiksha scheme within the district. The main goal of the meeting was to review the scheme’s progress and pinpoint areas that need enhancement.
Attendees included the Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Superintending Engineer (SE) PWD (R&B) Circle, Chief Education Officer (CEO), District Education Planning Officer (DEPO), relevant Executive Engineers (XEns), Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), along with other officials from the Education Department.
During the session, the DDC examined the advancement of various aspects of the scheme, such as infrastructure development, teacher training, student enrollment, and digital initiatives, including Aaghaaz Labs, Smart Classes, Computer-Aided Learning (CAL), ICT Labs, Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL), and Solar Plant Systems. He also evaluated how funds allocated under the scheme were being utilized and instructed officials to guarantee their timely and effective use.
The DDC called upon the respective ZEOs to review the CAL and ICT labs in their areas and oversee private schools. He stressed the importance of enhancing education quality throughout the district and directed officials to prioritize student assessments and improving school infrastructure.
In addition, the DDC mandated that all schools in the district must have sufficient infrastructure, which includes well-maintained classrooms, functional toilets, and reliable drinking water facilities.
