JAMMU, Mar 4: Today, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly commenced discussions on the Motion of Thanks regarding the Lieutenant Governor’s address, presented by Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather.
The motion, introduced by Mubarak Gul, received support from Ghulam Ahmad Mir.
During the discussions, Mubarak Gul emphasized that the people have given an overwhelming mandate to the current government and urged for the restoration of statehood, asserting that “Restoration of Statehood for Jammu and Kashmir is our right.”
Ghulam Ahmad Mir expressed gratitude to the populace for their confidence in the electoral process and their significant participation in the Assembly elections. He encouraged legislators to utilize the assembly time wisely.
Sham Lal Sharma advocated for strengthening institutions and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in this regard.
Sajad Ahmad Shaheen commended the government for its comprehensive development strategy for Jammu and Kashmir, calling for enhanced healthcare and educational infrastructure in his constituency. He urged all legislators to collaborate on restoring statehood.
Farooq Ahmad Shah highlighted the necessity of maintaining the dignity of the assembly and prioritizing the welfare of the community. He also advocated for a policy to advance sustainable tourism in Gulmarg, promote industrial growth, and open employment opportunities for the youth.
Additionally, Dr. Rameshwar Singh contributed to the motion of thanks, recommending that the government establish a policy for the regularization of NRHM employees and create job prospects for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, while also addressing illegal mining activities promptly.
