Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accompanied by Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, Union MoS Harsh Malhotra, and BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, unveils the third segment of BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections in New Delhi.

NEW DELHI: As the Delhi Assembly elections approach in less than two weeks, senior BJP leader Amit Shah made significant promises on Saturday, including a commitment to clean the Yamuna River within three years, granting full ownership rights to residents of 1,700 unauthorized colonies, and introducing welfare initiatives for gig workers and laborers.
Shah criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of dishonesty and failing to fulfill his promises, asserting that “removing liars and betrayers” will be a key issue in the national capital.
The BJP manifesto also promises free travel of up to Rs 4,000 annually for eligible students in the Delhi Metro under the National Common Mobility Card scheme.
During the release of the final segment of BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ ahead of the February 5 polling, Shah stated that residents of the 1,700 unauthorized colonies would be granted complete ownership rights, facilitating the buying, selling, and construction of properties if the BJP is elected.
He reaffirmed that the BJP would continue existing welfare programs for the disadvantaged in Delhi.
Shah announced various new initiatives aimed at supporting gig workers and laborers, including establishing a gig workers welfare board that would provide Rs 10 lakh insurance and Rs 5 lakh accident coverage.
Moreover, he pledged to fill 50,000 government positions transparently, create 20 lakh self-employment opportunities, and develop a major Mahabharat corridor.
Shah also mentioned that the central government has allocated Rs 41,000 crore for road construction, Rs 15,000 crore for railways, and Rs 21,000 crore for airport development in Delhi, emphasizing that Delhi would not be a livable city without significant investment in infrastructure from the central government.
He accused the Kejriwal-led AAP of unprecedented levels of corruption, citing alleged scams as evidence. (AGENCIES)
