NEW DELHI, Feb 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Thursday that the BJP government in Delhi aims to transform the city into the best capital in the world, focusing on cleanliness, beauty, and prosperity. He expressed his congratulations to the newly sworn-in Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet members.
Following the recent assembly election results, where the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faced defeat, Shah emphasized that the residents of Delhi have chosen the BJP, known for its commitment to service, marking an end to deceit and unfulfilled promises.
“I would like to extend my warm congratulations to Mrs. @gupta_rekha ji and all the ministers for taking their oaths in the newly established BJP government.
Under the capable leadership of all of you, the vision for a developed Delhi, as envisioned by Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi for the upliftment of the underprivileged, women, youth, and the poor, is sure to become a reality,” he stated on ‘X’ in Hindi.
The senior BJP leader reiterated that the party’s government intends to make Delhi a vibrant, clean, and prosperous city.
Rekha Gupta, a first-time legislator, was inaugurated as the Chief Minister of Delhi in a striking ceremony, symbolizing the BJP’s return to power after over 26 years.
Along with Gupta, Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kapil Mishra, Ravinder Indraj Singh, and Pankaj Singh also took their oaths of office from Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the historic Ramlila Ground, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, top BJP officials, and NDA chief ministers. (Agencies)
