New Delhi, Jan 23: The audience was captivated by the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) fly-past during a full dress rehearsal for Republic Day held on Thursday. Spectators enjoyed the thrilling display as the sound of powerful jets resonated in the air, heralding India’s upcoming 76th Republic Day festivities.
According to a press statement, 47 IAF aircraft will participate in the Republic Day events. These planes will be featured in the grand flypast that concludes the celebrations.
This year’s line-up includes Sukhoi Su-30 MKI, Rafale fighters, Dornier transport planes, Mi-17 helicopters, and Apache attack choppers, all set to contribute to the Republic Day spectacle.
The flypast is scheduled to occur after the national anthem, along with the unveiling of the official logo commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. Prior to the flypast, a parade will showcase 31 tableaux from various states, union territories, and central ministries, centered around the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas.”
The Republic Day Parade 2025 promises to be a magnificent celebration of India’s cultural richness and military strength, prominently featuring 75 years since the Indian Constitution was enacted and the notion of Jan Bhagidari.
This year’s festivities will welcome Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as the chief guest.
“A 160-member marching contingent and a 190-member band from Indonesia will join forces with the Indian Armed Forces contingents at Kartavya Path,” stated Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh during a media briefing in New Delhi.
On January 26, 2025, the Republic Day Parade will commence in the morning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi placing a wreath at the National War Memorial. The President will arrive at Kartavya Path via a ceremonial buggy and review the parade, which will feature units from the Armed Forces, Para Military Forces, Auxiliary Civil Forces, NCC, and NSS.
The parade will kick off with a distinctive cultural program showcasing 300 artists from various regions of the country playing traditional instruments. This will be followed by the march past of both the Indian and Indonesian armed forces contingents. (Agencies)
