JAMMU, Mar 1: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary honored Rajat Singh Chib, who secured a Bronze medal in Judo at the recently concluded 38th National Games in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
During his interaction with the athlete, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the government has launched a comprehensive approach to boost sports activities and enhance the necessary infrastructure. He remarked that engaging in sports is vital for the overall development of individuals possessing intellectual potential and talent.
The Deputy Chief Minister also acknowledged that numerous athletes from Jammu and Kashmir have excelled in both national and international competitions, bringing pride to the region. “It is heartening to see our young athletes carving out their own space, and we are committed to providing them with the essential support and assistance,” he added.
Notably, Rajat Singh Chib, hailing from Hunjana Nowshera in the Rajouri district, achieved the Bronze medal in this event, marking a significant milestone after a 35-year gap in the Men’s category.
