Srinagar, Mar 3: On Monday, Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat presided over a meeting to assess the crime and security landscape in the Union Territory.
“The primary objective of the meeting was to evaluate the current security status and the efficacy of the crime management strategies implemented throughout the region,” stated a police spokesperson.
The meeting saw participation from the IGP Kashmir, Range DIGs, district SSPs from the Kashmir Zone, as well as other senior officials, with Jammu Zone officers connecting virtually.
During the discussions, the DGP stressed the importance of improved collaboration between districts to bolster law enforcement and security measures.
He also underscored the need for a proactive approach and the implementation of community engagement strategies to foster trust and combat criminal activities.
District SSPs provided detailed reports addressing the law enforcement and public safety challenges within their areas of jurisdiction.
Prabhat additionally directed for the swift investigation and resolution of long-standing criminal cases.
The IGP of the Kashmir Zone urged officers to take a proactive stance in tackling serious crimes and to work closely with the judiciary and prosecution to accelerate case resolutions.
