ANANTNAG, Jan 18: The District Anantnag Carrom Championship wrapped up with remarkable excitement at the Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium, Bijbehara, today.
This two-day event, orchestrated by the District Anantnag Carrom Association under the auspices of the Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association and backed by the J&K Sports Council, took place as part of the “My Youth My Pride” initiative. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from players across Cadet, Junior, and Senior categories for both genders.
During the thrilling matches, Hadeeqa Fatima claimed victory in the Cadet Girls category, while Luqman Bilal emerged as the winner in the Cadet Boys category. Ishra Javaid secured the top position in the Junior Girls category and Zeshan Gulzar took home the win in the Junior Boys category. In the Senior Women’s category, Anzalna Rafiq finished in first place, and Umar Farooq excelled in the Senior Men’s category.
The closing ceremony was honored by the presence of Mohammad Shafi, Manager of the Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium, who served as the chief guest. He presented medals, certificates, and prizes to the winners, runners-up, and third-place participants, commending their outstanding performances.
