DODA, Jan 18: The 5th District Doda Taekwondo Championships 2024-25, organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Doda under the auspices of the J&K Taekwondo Association and the J&K Sports Council (JKSC), concluded in high spirits at the Indoor Sports Hall, Doda. This year’s championship featured over 150 athletes from various schools and clubs across District Doda, all competing and demonstrating their skills.
The closing ceremony was graced by the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, who honored the medal winners for their remarkable achievements. Other notable attendees included Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Mehta; District Social Welfare Officer Doda, Tariq Qazi; and SHO Doda, Parvaiz Khandey. Special guests present were Suresh Singh (Observer, JKSC), Suresh Kumar (ZPEO), and Dr. Rohail.
The event was led by Junaid Ali Khan (President, Taekwondo Association of District Doda) and Burhan Ud Din Khan (Secretary, TADD), who both played key roles in ensuring the successful execution of the championships.
In an intensely fought competition, Shield Taekwondo Academy claimed the Winner’s Trophy, while Falcon Taekwondo Club took the Runner-up spot, and Chenab Sports Academy secured the Second Runner-up position. The medalists have also qualified to represent District Doda at the upcoming 27th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships.
