Srinagar, January 4: In order to tackle pressing issues such as the operation of ITMS Cameras, the relocation of KPTCL Towers in Sanatnagar, snow clearance, and rehabilitation matters, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri convened a meeting with relevant departments and officials on Saturday.
During the meeting, the Div Com expressed concern over software malfunctions affecting ITMS, which hampers the smooth enforcement of traffic regulations. He instructed the relevant officer to promptly address these issues for effective utilization by the Traffic Department.
Concerning the relocation of KPTCL Towers in Sanatnagar to facilitate better traffic flow over the flyover, the Div Com urged the expeditious acquisition of land under the 3A National Highway Act for the installation of new transmission towers.
Given the weather advisory indicating snowfall, the Divisional Commissioner directed the activation of the Divisional Control Room at ICCC to monitor and respond to emergencies, as well as the deployment of staff by related departments at the Control Room.
To ensure the effective execution of the snow clearance plan, the Div Com urged SMC, R&B, MED, ULB, and PMGSY to collaborate closely while executing snow clearance operations and restoring road connectivity.
He emphasized that their snow clearance efforts should not be limited to specific jurisdictions but should also include prompt responses to nearby areas to help clear roadways.
The Div Com instructed the Chief Engineer of MED to work in coordination with SMC to prioritize the restoration of city roads.
The meeting also addressed the obstacles and the acquisition of structures along the road alignment at Habakadal, along with the necessary rehabilitation measures.
On this occasion, the Div Com directed the district administration to identify ten plots on the outskirts of the city to facilitate the rehabilitation of households.
