JAMMU, Feb 7: Ramesh Kumar, the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and Chairman of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, convened a meeting today to discuss plans for the upcoming Maha Shivratri Mela at the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine in Ransoo, Reasi.
The Divisional Commissioner assessed the physical and financial progress of various developmental initiatives aimed at enhancing amenities for devotees at the Shrine.
The meeting included participation from the Director of Tourism, the Deputy Commissioner of Reasi, officials from the Border Roads Organization (BRO), Jammu and Kashmir State Works (JSW), and other relevant personnel, both in person and through virtual means.
During the discussion, a comparative review was conducted on the yearly and monthly statistics of devotees visiting the holy site, alongside evaluations of the arrangements made in the prior year.
The Divisional Commissioner instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Reasi to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the Maha Shivratri Mela 2025, aimed at delivering a fulfilling spiritual experience for attending devotees during this significant religious event.
Specific directives were issued to focus on logistics, creating a welcoming ambiance through appropriate lighting, maintaining pathways, ensuring sanitation, providing seating, and managing water and power supply as well as a queue management system.
The meeting also addressed the necessary arrangements for the Shobha Yatra, Bhajan Sandhya, and other religious activities, along with additional provisions along the pilgrimage route to facilitate a comfortable experience for the devotees.
Furthermore, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the progress of various developmental projects at the holy Shrine, including the construction of public utilities, Ghats, food kiosks, rain shelters, and a helipad at Shiv Khori and Katra.
