SRINAGAR, Jan 1: National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah has urged the administration to ramp up efforts and ensure the swift resolution of issues faced by residents in the Chenab region due to the recent heavy snowfall.
Recognizing the severity of the snowfall and its consequences, Dr. Farooq stressed the necessity for ongoing administrative actions to restore essential services and meet the urgent needs of the affected populace. He commended the Government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for their proactive stance and the extensive public outreach initiatives carried out by party MLAs and Ministers during this difficult period.
Dr. Farooq pointed out that these initiatives have been crucial in alleviating the hardships encountered by the people and in reinstating a sense of normalcy across the Kashmir Valley and the winter regions of Jammu. “The swift action regarding snow clearance, restoration of power and water supply, along with ensuring sufficient ration distribution, has significantly eased the difficulties faced by the community,” he remarked.
Additionally, he praised Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his personal involvement in overseeing relief efforts, thereby ensuring that the administration is effectively addressing the grievances of the residents. According to Dr. Farooq, this hands-on approach from the Chief Minister has instilled trust amongst the people and highlighted the Government’s dedication to their welfare.
Dr. Farooq called for the administration to maintain vigilance and guarantee that relief measures continue without interruption until full normalization is achieved in the Chenab region. He expressed hope that such dedicated efforts would foster trust and strengthen public confidence in governance.
