JAMMU, Jan 9: Pankaj Bhagotra, the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) of Jammu, announced today that the driving skill tests currently held at Khanpur Nagrota will be relocated to the Institute of Driving Training & Research (IDTR) located at Khaink, Kot Bhalwal, effective January 14, 2025.
During a press conference, RTO Bhagotra highlighted the IDTR as a cutting-edge facility established by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). The facility boasts six specially designed testing tracks that comply with the requirements set forth in the Central Motor Vehicle (CMV) Rules.
Bhagotra also mentioned that the process for booking driving test slots is now entirely online via the Sarathi portal. “Applicants are encouraged to reserve their test slots at their convenience based on available times,” he noted.
Additionally, he assured that all driving tests at IDTR will be monitored by video cameras to guarantee transparency and fairness, and that the recordings will be retained for 90 days for review or contest purposes.
The Regional Transport Officer urged the public to take advantage of the 58 services offered by the Transport Department from the comfort of their homes, encouraging them to access these services through the official portals without needing to rely on intermediaries.
