SRINAGAR, Dec 3: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has put forward a plan for winter vacations to commence in a phased schedule starting from the second week of December for schools in Kashmir and the winter zones of Jammu.
According to the proposal from DSEK, students in classes up to 2nd primary will be on winter vacation from December 9, 2024, until February 24, 2025.
Additionally, students in classes from 3rd primary to 12th will have their break from December 16, 2024, to February 24, 2025.
This recommendation comes in response to the current weather conditions, specifically the cold wave and thick fog affecting the Kashmir Valley.
“The circumstances have made it necessary to declare winter vacation. Thus, the proposal is submitted for your careful review and necessary action and directives,” states the proposal addressed to the Principal Secretary of the School Education Department.
