JAMMU, Feb 6: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary and Minister for FCS&CA, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, conducted a public outreach program in Chowki Choura today to address local grievances and demands.
The initiative aimed to provide immediate resolutions to issues confronted by residents and promised on-the-spot solutions to certain development concerns.
Throughout the event, the Deputy Chief Minister and the Transport Minister responded to a variety of concerns brought forth by local representatives, including the DDC, BDCs, and PRIs of Chowki Choura.
Major issues discussed included road connectivity, inconsistent power and water supply, the need for improved healthcare services, and inadequate staffing in various departments, notably schools.
Residents also requested the establishment of two degree colleges in Chowki Choura and Maira Mandrian, as well as a guesthouse, ITI college, upgrading of high schools, a fire station, ambulance services, and other essential utilities.
The Deputy CM instructed officials to promptly address these concerns and to execute all directives in both spirit and letter for the benefit of the public.
He personally met with individuals, listened to their grievances, and ensured immediate follow-up.
Surinder Choudhary emphasized the necessity of regular visits to rural areas by officials to guarantee effective implementation of government schemes. He highlighted that these public outreach programs reflect the Government’s commitment to addressing and resolving public grievances at their source.
He also stressed that organizing village-level camps to offer citizen-centric services marks a significant step towards making governance more efficient and accessible to citizens.
In his remarks, Satish Sharma encouraged officers from relevant departments to dedicate themselves to providing swift services to the community. He urged them to collaborate effectively to minimize inconveniences for the residents.
Satish Sharma reiterated the Government’s commitment to fulfilling the developmental aspirations of the populace while ensuring that no one is deprived of basic needs and that all citizens are treated equitably.
