RAMBAN, Jan 22: Today, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary held a public darbar and laid the foundation stone for the enhancement and upgrade of the Galli to Kateri road project.
Stretching across 2.60 kilometers, this crucial project is being carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD), R&B Division Ramban, with an estimated cost of Rs 872.84 lakh. The initiative aims to strengthen road connectivity from Nashri to Sanasar, a popular tourist spot in Ramban district. The enhanced connectivity is anticipated to significantly uplift tourism and local economic activities, benefiting the region’s residents.
The foundation laying ceremony saw participation from various dignitaries, including Chairperson of the District Development Council (DDC), Dr. Shamshad Shan; MLA Ramban, Arjun Singh Raju; Chief Engineer PWD Batote, Ashok Kumar; ADC Ramban, Varunjeet Singh Charak; DDC members; senior officials; and distinguished citizens.
During the event, the Deputy Chief Minister reiterated the Government’s dedication, under the Chief Minister’s leadership, to provide governance directly to the people. He emphasized that “the Government is striving to address public concerns and meet its commitments for the improvement of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Surinder Choudhary directed officials to make regular visits to rural areas to ensure effective execution of Government schemes. Emphasizing the region’s tourism potential, he guaranteed that substantial efforts will be made to enhance tourism infrastructure, including the upgrading of the Nashri-Sanasar road.
At the public darbar, the Deputy Chief Minister responded to issues that locals raised, led by the DDC Chairperson and MLA Ramban. He instructed officials to quickly address these concerns and to implement all directives thoroughly for the public’s welfare.
Reviewing the execution of various public welfare schemes and projects across sectors like Education, Health, Labour, Jal Shakti, Animal Husbandry, PWD, and PMGSY, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed that any misappropriation of funds or negligence in duty will not be tolerated.
