CHANDIGARH, Dec 11: Eminent Electricity Distribution Ltd (EEDL), a fully-owned subsidiary of CESC Ltd under the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, announced on Wednesday its intention to deliver “reliable, efficient, and innovative power solutions” to the residents of Chandigarh.
This initiative is focused on enhancing consumer services, boosting operational efficiency, and establishing a financially sustainable distribution model.
P R Kumar, President of Power Distribution at RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group (RPSG Group), remarked, “We sincerely appreciate the trust placed in us by the Central government and the Chandigarh UT Administration.”
Kumar also dismissed rumors suggesting that EEDL lacks expertise in power distribution as unfounded.
He highlighted that CESC Ltd, the power division of the RPSG Group, has been successfully generating and distributing electricity in Kolkata and Howrah since 1897.
With a revenue of ₹15,500 crore and a market capitalization of ₹26,500 crore, CESC caters to over 4.4 million customers across various regions, including Kolkata and Howrah in West Bengal, Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh, and distribution franchises in Kota, Bharatpur, and Bikaner in Rajasthan, according to Kumar.
The RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group operates 23+ companies and manages over 34 brands. (PTI)
