JAMMU, Dec 2: Javed Ahmad Rana, the Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, urged officials from the Jammu division to prioritize enhancing the ease of living for citizens, focusing on service delivery at people’s doorsteps.
These directives came during a meeting with officers from Poonch district and senior officials from various departments within the Jammu division.
Rana emphasized the critical necessity for inclusive development that benefits every area of J&K, especially those that have been historically overlooked.
Reiterating the Government’s commitment to the advancement of remote areas, he stated that the elected Government is dedicated to ensuring that assistance reaches the most marginalized.
The Minister called for improving the sophistication and speed of beneficiary-oriented programs, directing officials to coordinate efforts for rapid service delivery.
Earlier today, several delegations and individuals met with the Minister to present their concerns and demands.
One delegation of daily wage workers from the Jal Shakti Department brought up their grievances, specifically requesting the release of their long-overdue wages.
Another group of daily wage laborers advocated for the enforcement of the Minimum Wage Act in Jammu and Kashmir.
Additionally, a delegation from Sidhra, led by former Corporator Shama Akhter, expressed gratitude to the Minister for addressing water supply issues in their community.
The Minister attentively listened to all delegations and individuals, assuring them of prompt attention to their valid concerns. He pledged to raise the issues with the relevant departments for quick resolution.
In several instances, he provided immediate instructions to appropriate officials for addressing grievances.
