JAMMU, Feb 5: A project orientation and membership drive to revitalize the JAK Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store took place today at Bari Brahmana, drawing over 500 Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris.
During the event, Maj. Gen. Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (Retd) informed attendees about the reasons that led to the Unit’s decline.
Gen Jamwal encouraged all Ex-Servicemen present to join this Sainik Cooperative, initiated under the guidance of PM Modi and Amit Shah, the Union Minister of Cooperatives.
He also praised the efforts of Atal Dulloo, J&K Chief Secretary, and Babila Rakwal, Secretary of Cooperatives, along with her team.
Brig. (Dr.) Vijay Sagar Dheman, Managing Director of JAK Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store Ltd, provided insights into the MoU established with UNATI Agro Allied Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society, outlining a brief operational plan.
Vikrant Dogra, Chairman of UNATI Agro Allied Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society, elaborated on the operational aspects, production, marketing, and the development of a Sainik ecosystem for agro-products in J&K.
Other notable attendees included Balwan Singh, Director on Duty; Th Gulchain Singh Charak, president of Dogra Sadar Sabha; Col Kulbir Singh Jamwal; Col Paramjit Singh; Group Capt Arun Kumar Gandhotra; Group Capt Sanjeev Gupta; Abdul Majid Bhat, Assistant Registrar of the Cooperative Department; Nk Dalbir Singh Bhatyal, vice president of the Indian Ex-Services League; and Vikrant Dogra, Chairman of UNATI AGRI Allied Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Col Kulbir Singh Jamwal.
A statement indicated that the JAK Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store was put under suspension due to unfavorable taxation policies. However, with guidance from Omar Abdullah, the J&K Chief Minister, and persistent efforts from Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Chairman of JAK Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store, this establishment is being revived with the assistance of UNATI Agro Allied Multistate Marketing Cooperative Society Ltd.
