MAHAKUMBH NAGAR (UP), Dec 25: With the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 approaching, preparations are in full swing to accommodate the expected influx of pilgrims, tourists, and high-profile dignitaries from around the world. Officials from the Prayagraj Mela Authority reported that significant arrangements are being made to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees.
The esteemed event is scheduled to take place over 45 days, beginning on Paush Purnima, January 13, and concluding on Mahashivratri, February 26.
Special provisions will be made for dignitaries, including the establishment of a 24/7 control room staffed with dedicated officers and personnel.
To manage protocols, the government has assigned three additional district magistrates (ADMs), several sub-district magistrates (SDMs), naib tehsildars, and four revenue officials to oversee the event.
Sector magistrates at the deputy collector level will be overseeing the arrangements across 25 designated sectors.
These preparations are aimed at ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for all distinguished guests attending this iconic gathering.
To facilitate seamless protocol arrangements for VIPs and VVIPs, 50 tourist guides and additional support staff will be deployed.
In terms of accommodation, five locations within the fair area have been equipped to host 250 circuit house tents, officials noted.
The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (UPTDC), with support from the Tourism Department, is creating a tent city featuring 110 luxury cottages, while private service providers will offer an extra 2,200 cottages.
Reservations for these accommodations can be made through the Prayagraj Mela Authority’s official website.
Additionally, 314 VIP/VVIP rooms have been arranged across 21 guest houses under the management of the Prayagraj district administration.
These initiatives are designed to provide dignitaries with a comfortable and enjoyable experience during this significant event.
