Dehradun, Jan 27: The inaugural National Sports Vision Conclave will feature prominent figures including India’s chief national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen, and former women’s hockey captain Rani Rampal. This event is set to take place in conjunction with the 38th National Games from January 29 to February 12.
The conclave aims to unite distinguished Indian athletes, sports officials, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders in one venue.
With over 30 planned sessions that encompass panel discussions, fireside chats, and workshops, the event will spotlight celebrated Olympians and Paralympians, including para badminton player Manasi Joshi, long jumper Murali Sreeshankar, fencer Bhavani Devi, weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga, shooter Anjum Moudgil, and legendary long jumper Anju Bobby George, among others.
Titled ‘Mauli Samvad’ in Hindi, the first National Sports Vision Conclave takes its name from Mauli, the vibrant mascot of the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand 2025, inspired by the majestic Monal, the state bird.
The conclave will occur at the Maharana Pratap Sports College Complex alongside the National Games, which commence on January 28 and conclude with a closing ceremony on February 14.
Centered around its motto, ‘Bridging Sports With Bharat’, the conclave is crafted to engage, educate, and enhance India’s sports landscape through enlightening discussions on peak athletic performance, gender and social equity, policymaking, athlete welfare, management, and media involvement.
Prominent figures in Indian sports, such as World Athletics vice-president Adille Sumariwalla, Olympic Gold Quest CEO Viren Rasqinha, fitness and nutrition expert Luke Coutinho, and Baseline Ventures co-founder and managing director Tuhin Mishra, will also be featured as speakers. (PTI)
