NEW DELHI, Jan 30: Five subsidiaries of Coal India, including SECL, CCL, and ECL, have fallen short of their production targets for the April-December period of this fiscal year.
South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) produced 111.54 million tonnes (MT) of coal, compared to its target of 133 MT.
Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) reported a production of 57.73 MT against a target of 66.48 MT. Bharat Coking Coal Ltd managed to produce 29.07 MT, falling short of its 31.90 MT target.
Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL) produced 33.82 MT, slightly below its target of 35.35 MT.
Northern Coalfields also reported lower production, with 104.90 MT against a target of 105.12 MT, according to Coal India statistics.
Conversely, Coal India subsidiaries Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL), Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL), and North Eastern Coalfields (NEC) have exceeded their targets.
WCL achieved a production of 45.10 MT against a target of 44.66 MT, while MCL produced 161.02 MT, surpassing its target of 158.79 MT.
North Eastern Coalfields (NEC) reported an output of 0.18 MT, exceeding its target of 0.12 MT.
Coal India operates a total of eight subsidiaries and contributes to over 80% of the country’s coal production. (PTI)
