SRINAGAR, Jan 7: A significant fire incident occurred in the Nowhatta area of Srinagar on Tuesday, resulting in the destruction of at least five homes and multiple shops, according to officials.
The Fire and Emergency Service reported that the blaze started around 8:30 am in a residence in the Bahauddin locality of Nowhatta, spreading to adjacent structures and causing extensive damage to five homes. Numerous shops were also affected by the flames.
Officials stated that several fire engines were dispatched from various city stations to fight the raging fire.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
