Las Vegas, Jan 6: In the United States, five men of Indian descent are facing murder charges related to the death of a 35-year-old man from India.
Sandeep Kumar, 34, residing in South Ozone Park, New York, has been indicted for murder and conspiracy to commit murder concerning Kuldeep Kumar’s death in Manchester Township around October 22, 2024, as stated by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and New Jersey State Police Superintendent Colonel Patrick Callahan in a recent announcement.
The investigation into Kuldeep’s death uncovered that Sandeep collaborated with other defendants to execute the murder of Kuldeep Kumar.
The other individuals charged in the case include Sourav Kumar, 23, Gaurav Singh, 27, Nirmal Singh, 30, and Gurdeep Singh, 22, all based in Greenwood, Indiana.
On December 14, 2024, authorities from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit were alerted to a deceased person found in the Greenwood Wildlife Management Area in Manchester Township.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers and detectives located a body in a state of advanced decomposition, the official statement indicated.
A post-mortem analysis by the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, categorizing the manner of death as homicide.
The deceased person was identified as Kuldeep Kumar from India.
During the initial investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and the New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit, it was revealed that Kumar had been reported missing by his family on October 26, 2024.
Following a comprehensive investigation involving various law enforcement agencies, it was established that Sourav, Gaurav, Nirmal, and Gurdeep acted in unison to facilitate Kuldeep Kumar’s murder.
Sourav and Gaurav were charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder on December 19, while Nirmal and Gurdeep faced similar charges a day later on December 20.
All four were subsequently taken to Johnson County Jail in Franklin, Indiana, where they will remain until their extradition to New Jersey is arranged.
Sandeep was apprehended on January 3 and processed at the New Jersey State Police Barracks in Holmdel. He was later transferred to Ocean County Jail, where he is currently held pending a detention hearing. (Agencies)
