NEW DELHI, Feb 5: Former Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud on Wednesday dismissed the opposition’s allegations regarding the authenticity of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and emphasized that the Supreme Court has consistently upheld their validity.
In a response to a question, the former CJI stated, “Today is not the day to delve into this. The Supreme Court has reiterated the validity of the EVMs on multiple occasions. Being the final authority in the constitutional realm, the Supreme Court has confirmed the legitimacy of the EVMs, and it’s imperative that we accept this.”
