Doda, Jan 16: The picturesque Bhaderwah valley in Doda district, part of the Jammu division, experienced a fresh snowfall on Thursday, accompanied by the nearby Bhalessa region, which was cloaked in a beautiful layer of white. Poonch also saw a new covering of snow, while the Kashmir valley further north received snowfall in Anantnag and surrounding areas in south Kashmir.
With the recent restoration of the Bhaderwah-Basholi-Pathankot National Highway, a significant influx of tourists has visited the Bhaderwah area of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the Guldanda meadow, following the heavy snowfall earlier this January.
Guldanda, situated at nearly 10,000 feet above sea level, has become a favored destination for visitors from across the nation. In the past year alone, the Bhaderwah region attracted over 500,000 tourists, as reported by Aamir Rafique, the Publicity Officer of the Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA).
