NEW DELHI, Jan 27: Godrej Enterprises Group announced on Monday its plan to invest over ₹1,200 crore in digital solutions and technology platforms over the next three to five years.
The conglomerate, which includes Godrej & Boyce along with its subsidiaries, operates in diverse sectors such as aerospace, aviation, defense, furniture, and IT software. The investment will target strategic digital platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), and generative AI technologies across its business units.
“With a consumer base exceeding 1.1 billion, we aim to transform the way customers engage with us. Our mission is to create a customer-first ecosystem that delivers a cohesive experience to nurture stronger relationships with our stakeholders,” stated Nyrika Holkar, Executive Director of Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG).
She further remarked, “By leveraging advanced digital and AI solutions, comprehensive skills training, and a steadfast commitment to change, we aspire to redefine the future of customer experience.”
In pursuit of a more integrated customer journey across its operations, GEG has “allocated over ₹1,200 crore for investments in innovative digital solutions and technology platforms over the coming 3-5 years, including strategic digital platforms, AI, and generative AI technologies throughout its business units.”
GEG is dedicated to enhancing organizational capabilities and improving employee skills, with plans for over 600,000 hours of training across essential areas including sales, service, marketing, as well as supportive functions like finance, legal, HR, IT, product design, and testing.
“This initiative ensures that our employees remain relevant in the digital age while continuously evolving and developing. Our dedication to upskilling is a vital element of GEG’s overarching digital transformation strategy,” it further noted.
Vijay Balakrishnan, Chief Digital & Information Officer of GEG, mentioned that the group is also broadening its e-commerce presence to serve tech-savvy consumers while improving service processes for a seamless post-purchase experience.
GEG is spearheaded by Jamshyd Godrej, serving as chairperson and managing director, following the separation of the Godrej family last year. (PTI)
