JAMMU, Mar 3: Emphasizing his Government’s dedication to enhancing the current healthcare framework throughout Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary stated today that high-quality health services are being delivered to the community, with particular attention to rural and remote locations.
The Deputy Chief Minister spoke to officials during a meeting of the “Rogi Kalyan Samiti” (RKS) aimed at evaluating the services and patient care provisions available at Sub District Hospital (SDH), Nowshera.
During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister, who also chairs the “Rogi Kalyan Samiti,” was informed about the advancements and performance metrics achieved by the SDH across various parameters and financial disbursements through RKS.
Topics including Maternity and Child Health Services, referral services, Ayushman Bharat, ABHA card status, JSY services, ambulance provisions, and the status of the Hospital’s civil works were briefly discussed.
BMO Nowshera provided a comprehensive presentation on the existing facilities, operations, and initiatives proposed under RKS for the year 2024-25 aimed at infrastructure improvements and the overall enhancement of the hospital’s healthcare system.
The Deputy Chief Minister instructed the relevant authorities to address key requirements essential for upgrading the hospital’s basic infrastructure. He also requested the BMO to compile a detailed list of departmental needs to facilitate necessary improvements to the hospital facilities.
He urged all participants to align their efforts with the objectives outlined in the RKS guidelines. Additionally, he called on Health Department officials to work with renewed enthusiasm and commitment to guarantee efficient and responsive healthcare services to the public.
The meeting was attended by ADC Nowshera, Babu Ram Tandon, BMO, Executive Engineers from Jal Shakti and R&B, EO, representatives from civil society, and other members.
