JAMMU, Feb 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has officially removed the oral exam/interview/viva-voce requirement for various positions, including Naib Tehsildar (NT), Sanitary Inspector, Health Educator, Warden, Staff Nurse, and Junior Stenographer.
These roles correspond to pay scales at Levels 6, 6B, 6C, 6D, 6E, 6F, and 6G across different government departments.
A notification issued by M Raju, the Commissioner Secretary of the General Administration Department, states that selections for these positions will now be based solely on written examinations.
However, any applicable trade or skill tests will still be conducted in accordance with the relevant recruitment regulations, as noted in the notification.
In the Agriculture Department, interviews have been eliminated for Boiler Mechanic, Junior Stenographer (Level 6B), and Senior Horticulture Technician (Level 6E) positions. The Forest, Ecology & Environment Department will no longer require interviews for the Cameraman (Level 6) and Junior Stenographer (Level 6B) roles.
Similarly, in the Health and Medical Education Department, interviews have been abolished for Health Educator, Extension Educator (Level 6), Sanitary Inspector, Staff Nurse (Level 6D), Warden (Level 6E), and Service Engineer (Level 6G) positions.
In the Higher Education Department, the interview process has also been eliminated for Junior Laboratory Technician (Level 6) and Junior Stenographer (Level 6B) roles, while in the Home Department, interviews have been discontinued for Assistant Scientific Officer (Level 6E) and Assistant Superintendent Jail (Level 6C) positions.
The Industries and Commerce Department will no longer conduct interviews for various posts such as Assistant Handicrafts Training Officer, Assistant Extension Officer, Assistant Handloom Training Officer, Calico Instructor, Head Weaver, and several others across different levels.
Furthermore, the Jal Shakti Department will exclude interviews for Junior Engineer (Level 6) and Junior Stenographer (Level 6B), and the Power Development Department will do the same for Junior Engineer (Level 6). In the Revenue Department, there will be no interviews for Naib Tehsildar (Level 6E), while the Transport Department has likewise excluded Junior Stenographer (Level 6B), Mechanic (Level 6), and Stores Officer (Level 6E) from the interview requirement.
