New Delhi, Jan 1: The total GST collection increased by 7.3 percent year-over-year, reaching Rs 1.77 lakh crore in December.
According to data released by the government on Wednesday, the Central GST collection was Rs 32,836 crore, State GST was Rs 40,499 crore, Integrated IGST stood at Rs 47,783 crore, and Cess amounted to Rs 11,471 crore.

The overall gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue rose by 7.3 percent to Rs 1.77 lakh crore in December compared to Rs 1.65 lakh crore during the same month the previous year.
For the month in question, GST from domestic transactions surged 8.4 percent to Rs 1.32 lakh crore, while revenue from imports increased approximately 4 percent to Rs 44,268 crore.
In November, the GST collection was Rs 1.82 lakh crore, exhibiting an annual growth of 8.5 percent. The all-time highest collection occurred in April 2024, exceeding Rs 2.10 lakh crore.
During December, refunds issued totaled Rs 22,490 crore, marking a 31 percent increase compared to the year-ago period. After accounting for refunds, the net GST collection saw a rise of 3.3 percent, totaling Rs 1.54 lakh crore. (Agencies)
