SINGAPORE, Nov 30: Indian challenger D Gukesh battled to a hard-earned draw with the white pieces in the fifth match of the World Chess Championship against the reigning champion Ding Liren of China on Saturday.
This marks the second consecutive draw, leaving both competitors tied at 2.5 points each, still needing 5 more points to claim the championship.
At just 18 years old, Gukesh is the youngest challenger ever for the title and previously secured victory in the third game on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old Liren had won the opening game, followed by draws in the second and fourth matches. (PTI)
