SRINAGAR, Feb 25: Significant cracks have emerged on a road adjacent to the Jhelum River in Hajin town, located in northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district, causing alarm among residents.
Locals reported that the cracks had been forming over the past few days, but the situation escalated today with the appearance of new fissures.
There is growing anxiety among the community that if the fissures continue to widen, a serious incident could occur, given the road’s proximity to the river. Residents are urging the authorities to take swift action to halt further damage.
An official stated that a team has been sent to evaluate the situation, and appropriate measures will be implemented. They also noted that movement near the affected area will be restricted. (KNO)
