SRINAGAR, Feb 12: A high-level meeting to review security is currently taking place at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Srinagar, according to sources. The meeting is presided over by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
Sources indicate that the gathering includes senior officials from the Army, Police, and CRPF, as well as representatives from various security agencies. The agenda includes an evaluation of the security landscape in the Kashmir Zone, while a distinct meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to address the security situation in Jammu Zone.
This meeting follows a series of back-to-back security reviews chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi last week.
Today’s discussions are expected to concentrate on crucial security concerns, such as counter-terror operations, infiltration attempts, and the rising issue of drug abuse in Kashmir.
Present at the meeting are Jammu and Kashmir’s DGP, all police officers from the Kashmir zone, senior Army officials, and personnel from various security agencies. (KNO)
