*Meets with NCC cadets returning from R-Day Camp in New Delhi

Jammu, Jan 31: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a meeting with the NCC cadets who had just returned from the Republic Day Camp in New Delhi.

The cadets shared their experiences from the Republic Day camp.
The Lieutenant Governor praised the cadets and NCC officers for their outstanding performances on Kartavya Path and in various competitions. He specifically congratulated SUO Ekta Kumari for her leadership of the All India NCC Girls Contingent, bringing pride to J&K.
He acknowledged that the historic participation in the Republic Day celebrations and the acquisition of numerous prestigious awards has underscored the NCC’s crucial role in developing future leaders of the country.
“NCC cadets consistently exhibit remarkable skills, discipline, and fulfill their duties with dedication. I commend the enthusiasm and innovative efforts of our young cadets in enhancing society and tackling challenges through selfless service,” the Lieutenant Governor stated.
He further remarked, “The youth represent our future and embody our vision for a better world and a brighter tomorrow for J&K. They bear the significant duty of upholding the ideals and values of our ancient civilization while building a stronger J&K UT.
The spirit of NCC will empower them to drive initiatives for peace and progress and achieve the aim of substantial social change. NCC cadets should motivate and inspire their peers to engage in nation-building activities.”
The Lieutenant Governor urged the NCC cadets to commit to five resolutions: accelerate the development of Jammu and Kashmir, enhance the quality of life for citizens, establish social units devoted to nation-building, encourage constructive societal change through NCC values, and ensure the participation of all societal segments in the nation’s development journey.
The Lieutenant Governor honored the cadets with Certificates of Excellence for their exemplary contributions to the success of the contingent.
To commemorate the occasion, Maj Gen A. Bevli, Additional Director General of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate, presented a memento to the Lieutenant Governor as a gesture of appreciation for his unwavering support of NCC initiatives.
The vibrant cultural presentations by the NCC cadets, symbolizing India’s unity in diversity, received special acknowledgment from the Lieutenant Governor.
This year, a total of 127 cadets from the Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh NCC Directorate participated in the Republic Day celebration, with 17 NCC cadets selected to march on the Kartavya path and 5 chosen for the Guard of Honour.
SUO Ekta Kumari led the All India NCC Girls Contingent during the Republic Day Parade 2025 on Kartavya Path, earning commendations from the President of India and the DG NCC Commendation Card.
JUO Abida Afreen was acknowledged for her exceptional performance and awarded the Raksha Mantri Commendation Card. She has also been chosen to summit Mt. Everest this year, serving as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring youth. SUO Ekta, cadet Alankrita Sharma, ANO Dr. Lt Nitika Kundan, and Second Officer Ashaq Hussain received DG NCC Commendation Cards for their notable contributions during the camp.
Contingent Commander Col Amit Bhardwaj and Nb Sub Yashbir Singh were also honored with the DG NCC Medallion. Additionally, 8 cadets from the contingent were awarded the prestigious DG NCC Medallions for their outstanding performance.
Senior officers and instructors from the J&K and Ladakh NCC Directorate, along with officials from the School Education Department and Raj Bhawan, were present at the event.
