Jammu, Feb 10: On Monday, Inspector General of Police (Jammu) Bhim Sen Tuti led a comprehensive review meeting focused on operational readiness in the Chenab valley districts of Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban. The meeting took place at the Range Police Headquarters in Batote, Ramban, where senior officials engaged in extensive discussions regarding the strategic deployment of forces in this area, which experienced numerous terrorist incidents, particularly in Doda and Kishtwar, over the past year, as reported by the police.
During the session, the IGP thoroughly evaluated the regional security landscape, operational capabilities, and response strategies. Emphasis was placed on ensuring effective collaboration among various security agencies and police forces in order to maintain public order and proactively address any security threats, according to a police spokesperson.
Key points discussed included tackling emerging security challenges, enhancing surveillance measures, and fostering better coordination between field forces and intelligence units. The IGP also addressed the importance of bolstering logistical support, increasing patrols, and implementing preventative strategies to avert potential incidents.
Additionally, Tuti underscored the necessity of ongoing engagement with local communities, especially in regions with challenging terrains, to promote cooperation and build trust. He also highlighted the importance of ensuring the welfare of officers stationed in these remote and demanding locations as a top priority, as noted by the spokesperson.
