New Delhi, March 5: In anticipation of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025, the Adani Foundation honored over 1,000 ‘Lakhpati Didis’ during an event in Mundra, Kutch, Gujarat.
On Wednesday, the Foundation affirmed its ongoing efforts in Kutch and surrounding areas to empower women and foster self-reliance.
Their mission focuses on boosting the socio-economic status of women and promoting financial independence through essential support, guidance, and opportunities for skill development and entrepreneurship.
Highlighting its dedication to cultivating a gender-inclusive workforce and society, the Foundation also celebrated the resilience of more than 614 women employed at Adani Solar during this event.
The Foundation has been pivotal in encouraging and counseling women to join Adani Solar in diverse roles, spanning technical, engineering, human resources, and manufacturing positions.
Additionally, it has successfully assisted over 850 women in enhancing their entrepreneurial skills to achieve self-reliance.
Manisha Chandra, Commissioner of Rural Development and Secretary to the Government of Gujarat, extended her best wishes, praising the Foundation in a recorded video message for its efforts in nurturing an inclusive workforce. She stated,
“It’s a matter of great pride to witness women shattering stereotypes and achieving financial independence. Such initiatives uplift women at the grassroots level and inspire future generations.”
Ami Shah, Director of Adani Public School in Mundra, was also present at the event alongside other guests.
Pankti Shah, the CSR Head of the Adani Foundation in Gujarat, reiterated the collective responsibility of society to champion gender equality.
“For women to truly progress, support from family, community, and the corporate sector is crucial. When women are empowered to balance their professional and personal lives, they excel in their careers while also creating positive changes within their families and communities,” she noted.
Adani Solar showcases its commitment to gender inclusivity with dedicated facilities for women employees at its business unit.
These amenities include locker rooms, canteens, pink toilets, and secure transportation with personnel, ensuring women feel comfortable and safe at work.
Sharing her story, Gadhavi Sonal Ram, a Technical Associate at Adani Solar, expressed,
“Today, I am financially independent and can support my family, which feels like a dream come true. Previously, it was difficult for girls in my community to seek employment due to a lack of safe transportation. However, with Adani Solar’s dedicated transport services, I can commute comfortably and my family can rest assured of my safety.”
