MUMBAI, Jan 24: The upcoming third edition of the India Energy Week, set to take place in the National Capital from February 11, is projected to be the second-largest global energy event in terms of attendance, exhibition area, and sessions, as stated by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday.
During a media briefing prior to the four-day event, Puri, the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, mentioned that a Clean Cooking Ministerial will also be organized on the sidelines of India Energy Week 2025.
This ministerial will act as a crucial platform aimed at enhancing collaborative efforts to expedite the global embrace of clean cooking solutions, while underscoring India’s leading role in providing access to sustainable and economical energy solutions, further highlighting its global commitment to energy equity, as per government sources.
India’s successful Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) will be prominently featured, providing valuable insights and best practices as a global model for tackling energy accessibility issues, as stated by officials.
The India Energy Week 2025 is set to draw global participation from ministers, CEOs, and industry leaders, according to the government.
The Minister noted that the event is projected to grow significantly in size and participation compared to previous editions, with the exhibition space expanding by 65% to 28,000 square meters from the 2024 edition, as well as an increase in conference sessions to 105, and global delegates expected to surpass 70,000.
Over 500 speakers, including prominent international figures, will participate, illustrating the event’s increasing global stature. The conference will also host 10 country pavilions from leading nations such as the US, UK, Russia, Japan, Germany, and the Netherlands, as well as eight thematic zones dedicated to hydrogen, renewables, biofuels, and petrochemicals, he added.
The event is anticipated to welcome over 20 foreign energy ministers or deputy ministers, in addition to leaders from International Organizations and 90 CEOs from Fortune 500 energy firms, reflecting India’s growing role in influencing the global energy transition discourse.
A key highlight of IEW 2025 will be its emphasis on vital themes, such as energy security, orderly and equitable transitions, collaboration, resilience, capacity building, and advancements in digital technology, the government confirmed. (PTI)
