Dear Sir,
Brigadier Anil Gupta’s thorough analysis of the Aksai Chin dispute highlights both the strategic and historical importance of this contested area. China’s recent establishment of new administrative counties in Aksai Chin is a direct challenge to India’s sovereignty and undermines ongoing diplomatic discussions.
India’s strong protest is not only justified but essential. Aksai Chin has been a key part of Ladakh since it was annexed in 1842, and China’s occupation following the 1962 conflict, along with their expansionist strategies, necessitates a resolute response.
India must continue to uphold its claims vigorously and resist any attempts to change the current situation. Efforts in diplomacy should be reinforced with strong international advocacy to ensure the integrity of India’s territorial claims.
Sincerely,
Vikas Sharma
