JAKARTA, Dec. 28: On Friday, Indonesian police apprehended four individuals during an operation in West Java as part of an investigation into suspected terrorist activities, according to local media reports on Saturday.
This operation, led by the National Police’s counterterrorism unit, occurred in the Majalengka area of the province. Authorities reportedly confiscated various pieces of evidence, including documents and firecrackers.
Indonesia has faced numerous terrorist attacks in its history, notably the deadly Bali bombings in 2002 and the Makassar cathedral bombing in 2021.
In reaction to these threats, the Southeast Asian nation has implemented counter-terrorism operations both within its borders and internationally. (UNI)
