JAMMU, Jan 12: A search operation aimed at locating terrorists spotted near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector continued into its second day on Sunday. Officials reported that forces are utilizing drones and advanced equipment.

The search commenced on Saturday in the Bhattal area, triggered by villagers’ reports of unusual activity in the Jogiwan forest. There are suspicions that these movements are linked to infiltrating terrorists.

With no signs of the suspected individuals thus far, the operation is actively ongoing, with additional troops deployed to expand the search coverage. Officials indicated that drones, advanced technology, and sniffer dogs have been deployed, with police units also joining the effort.

It is worth noting that three heavily armed terrorists from the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group were neutralized during a two-day operation in the Akhnoor sector on October 28 and 29 of the previous year.
