NEW DELHI, Dec 7: R Prasad Meena, a senior IPS officer, has been appointed as the Director General (Investigation) of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) as announced by the Personnel Ministry on Saturday.
Meena, who belongs to the Assam-Meghalaya cadre and is a member of the 1993 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS), is currently serving as the Special Director General in the Border Security Force.
His tenure as Director General (Investigation) at NHRC will continue until his retirement on July 31, 2025, according to the official order.
