SRINAGAR, Feb 2: In Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir, local police have filed an FIR against a con artist while authorities have sealed five unauthorized dental laboratories in Pulwama.
According to officials, the Sopore police took immediate action against fraudulent activities by registering a case against Basharat Mehraj Shah, also known as Basharat Molvi.
He allegedly deceived Mehraj Ahmad Sheikh into giving him a bribe of Rs 25,000 with the false promise of securing the return of Sheikh’s phone, which had been confiscated by law enforcement for examination.
An FIR has been lodged at the Dangiwacha police station, and an investigation is currently underway.
Furthermore, police have issued a public advisory urging citizens to stay alert against such scams. The community is advised to be cautious and not to fall prey to fraudulent schemes that could result in financial losses and other serious repercussions. (Agencies)
