DOHA, Jan 1: On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. They conducted a thorough review of their bilateral cooperation and discussed recent developments in the region and globally. This visit marks Jaishankar’s first diplomatic engagement of the year 2025, following his arrival on December 30 for a three-day trip.
Jaishankar shared on X, “I was delighted to meet PM and FM @MBA_AlThani_ in Doha today. My inaugural diplomatic engagement in 2025 was a productive review of our bilateral cooperation, coupled with a comprehensive discussion on recent regional and global issues.”
The visit aims to assess various dimensions of the bilateral relationship, which include political, trade, investment, energy, security, cultural, and people-to-people ties. Additionally, they will address regional and international matters of shared interest, as noted in a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs. (PTI)
