POONCH, Feb 28: The Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, conducted a significant public outreach camp in Mendhar today, where numerous delegations and individuals presented their concerns and issues to him.
The camp, designed to evaluate the area’s development context, saw the Minister attentively listening to local grievances concerning water supply, healthcare services, the implementation of the Forest Rights Act, PMAY-G, and tribal welfare, among others.
Furthermore, delegations voiced their demands for enhanced road connectivity and the establishment of Eklavya Model Residential Schools alongside other developmental requirements.
The Minister assured all delegations that their concerns would be addressed promptly, stressing the government’s commitment to delivering services directly to the community.
“We are wholeheartedly dedicated to ensuring effective governance and prioritizing the resolution of public grievances,” the Minister asserted.
Rana emphasized several crucial initiatives undertaken by the government, which include efforts to provide safe drinking water to every household, implement the Forest Rights Act, tackle issues faced by tribal communities, enhance healthcare services, and improve road connectivity, among other priorities. He also highlighted the necessity of engaging with grassroots communities to identify and effectively address issues.
During the outreach event, the Minister issued specific instructions to relevant departments for the rapid resolution of critical issues, including the timely preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) to improve project execution. He also directed the Irrigation, Flood Control, and Forest Departments to focus on water and soil conservation, emphasizing the need for rainwater harvesting through the construction of check dams.
