MENDHAR, (POONCH) Feb 28: Javed Ahmed Rana, the Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, held a large public outreach camp at Mendhar today. Numerous delegations and individuals shared their issues and concerns with him.
The purpose of the camp was to evaluate the region’s development scenario. The Minister listened to local residents’ worries regarding water supply, healthcare services, the implementation of the Forest Rights Act, PMAY-G, and tribal welfare, among other topics.
Delegations also emphasized their demands for enhanced road connectivity, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, and other developmental needs.
Minister Rana assured the attendees that their concerns would be addressed promptly, highlighting the government’s commitment to providing services directly to the public. “We are fully committed to effective governance and prioritizing the resolution of public grievances,” he stated.
He elaborated on several key initiatives undertaken by the Government, such as ensuring safe drinking water for every household, enforcing the Forest Rights Act, addressing tribal issues, improving healthcare, and enhancing road connectivity. He stressed the importance of engaging with local communities to effectively identify and address their challenges.
During the outreach event, the Minister directed line departments to take swift action on pressing issues, including the timely preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) to facilitate smoother project execution. He called on the Irrigation, Flood Control, and Forest Departments to prioritize water and soil conservation, emphasizing the significance of rainwater harvesting through the construction of check dams.
