JAMMU, Feb 6: Officials reported that a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was discovered deceased with a gunshot wound in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
The event took place in the border region of the Mendhar sector, where some soldiers found the Naib Subedar injured.
He was promptly taken to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The Army has launched an investigation into the matter, with early indications pointing towards a potential suicide. (Agencies)
