JAMMU, Dec 1: The Chief of the Janta Dal United (JDU) in Jammu and Kashmir, G M Shaheen, has vehemently criticized the Government led by Omar Abdullah for its failure to fulfill key commitments.
During a press conference held today, Shaheen pointed out the Government’s shortcomings, especially in relation to providing free electricity and restoring Statehood, which are fundamental aspects of its agenda.
The JDU leader expressed his discontent regarding the lack of advancements, emphasizing that two months have already passed since these promises were issued. “The Government has fallen short in all areas, resulting in public disillusionment and doubts about its dedication to the people’s welfare,” he remarked.
He reaffirmed JDU’s dedication to the citizens of J&K, highlighting the party’s priority to deliver concrete advantages to the public. “JDU remains committed to working towards the upliftment of every individual and effectively addressing their concerns,” Shaheen asserted.
On this occasion, the JDU chief announced a noteworthy development with the formal joining of prominent figure Suresh Chander Gupta into the party. He welcomed Gupta’s entry as a significant enhancement to the party’s strength and outreach.
Looking to the future, Shaheen stated that JDU is thoroughly prepared to excel in the forthcoming Panchayat elections, seeking to build trust and garner the support of the populace. He encouraged the public to hold the current government accountable and to back JDU’s vision for progress and empowerment in the region.
Among those present during the event were significant leaders such as Amit Kapoor (Member, Parliamentary Board), Harpreet Singh (Party General Secretary), Mukesh Gupta, Sharma, Terat Raam, and youth leader Ashok Singh.
