NEW DELHI, Mar 4: Jio Platforms has partnered with leading technology firms AMD, Cisco, and Nokia to develop an Open Telecom AI Platform aimed at enhancing network security and efficiency while lowering technology costs.
The multi-domain intelligence framework will seamlessly integrate AI and automation across all layers of network operations, according to a joint statement made on Tuesday.
“Through our collaboration with AMD, Cisco, and Nokia, Jio is pushing the boundaries of the Open Telecom AI Platform, transforming networks into self-optimizing, customer-centric ecosystems,” the statement noted.
“This initiative transcends mere automation—it’s about enabling AI-driven, autonomous networks that adjust in real-time, improve user experiences, and unlock new services and revenue opportunities within the digital ecosystem,” commented Mathew Oommen, CEO of Reliance Jio.
The AI platform will be agnostic to large language models (AI search engines) and will employ an open application interface to maximize its effectiveness and capabilities, as stated.
Pekka Lundmark, President and CEO of Nokia, remarked that the company has established trusted technology leadership across various domains, including RAN, Core, fixed broadband, IP, and optical transport.
“The Telecom AI Platform will empower Jio to optimize and monetize their network investments, enhancing performance, security, operational efficiency, and customer experience, all powered by the prowess of artificial intelligence,” he added.
The Open Telecom AI Platform being developed by Jio Platforms, AMD, Cisco, and Nokia will include Jio as the inaugural customer, thereby establishing a replicable reference architecture and deployable solution for the global service provider industry.
Lisa Su, AMD Chair and CEO, stated that the company will utilize its range of high-performance CPUs, GPUs, and adaptive computing solutions for this platform.
Cisco’s Chair and CEO, Chuck Robbins, emphasized that this collaboration with Jio Platforms, AMD, and Nokia merges the expertise of industry frontrunners to revolutionize networks through AI. (PTI)
