JAMMU, Jan 2: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir is making significant strides in improving transparency and efficiency by adopting a fully electronic challan system. Starting January 1, 2025, all branches of the ACB will cease manual FIR registration and instead submit their challans electronically via the Crime & Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS).
This initiative is designed to streamline the challan filing process, enhance record-keeping, and enable swifter case management. All Investigating Officers (IOs) will be mandated to submit specific forms for each case challan within the CCTNS framework.
To support this transition, CCTNS labs have been set up in all eight ACB police stations across Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, 18 officials have received training to ensure the CCTNS platform operates seamlessly. Supervisory officers are instructed to delay the approval of any challan until complete information is entered into the CCTNS.
The ACB J&K remains dedicated to utilizing technology to boost efficiency and transparency in the fight against corruption, with this transition marking a pivotal step towards realizing these objectives.
